Land to Lunchbox
Paddock to plate learning
With over 150 different South Australian primary and secondary schools visiting each year we've proudly become Adelaide's go to for on-farm paddock to plate school excursions! Our highly developed Land to Lunchbox program show kids where food comes from!
Our excursions are year-level specific and curriculum-linked, giving students hands-on, real world experience learning that aligns with the South Australian Curriculum showing them where their food comes from - no matter what their age.
Students explore how apples are grown and gain a real world understanding of how commercial farm businesses operate. Experiences from seeing machinery demonstrations to understanding the significance of seasons & weather to learning our interesting entrepreneurial journey show students first hand the Food & Fibre curriculum connection. Every student goes home with a bag of apples and enjoys an apple juice in the orchard!
Teachers love how easy it is to organise, with all curriculum-linked pre and post excursion resources, risk assessments, and workbooks provided.
We also specialise in secondary school and SACE stage 1 & 2 subjects - Business & Innovation, Food and Hospitality and Agriculture.
Our OSHC Vacation Care excursions offer a simplified version of our school tours with a bigger focus on farm games and farm activities!
